5 Reasons Why Small Group Training Is The Spark You Need In 2017

For the fitness industry, the weeks surrounding the start of a New Year are always the busiest. Millions of people have set goals they expect to achieve in the coming year, with many unsure of how to get from point A to point B.

If you’ve never even glanced in the general direction of a gym, it can be really intimidating and even off-putting when you start working out. After all, you may feel like people are watching you (trust me, they aren’t), you may get frustrated at slow progress (be patient, it takes time), or you may not know anyone in the gym.

One of the best ways to counteract all of those issues above is by joining a Small Group Training class. Small Group Training (SGT) is a mix between personal training and group fitness, limiting the number of people in a class so that everyone gets the attention they need and deserve.

I joined the NHIE Guys at CRUNCH South Tampa earlier last month to see for myself what their "Camp Crunch" experience is all about, and came away really impressed (and out of breath!).

So, here are 5 of the many benefits that Small Group Training provides:

1. Personal Attention

While the larger, free classes are a great way to burn calories and have fun doing it, the instructors are not always able to see and correct each individual person if the class is too large.

2. Price

Personal Training provides the most personal attention and greatest opportunity to succeed, since you are spending one-on-one time with your trainer. Some people, however, may find that SGT fits into their budget better and still gives them the attention and results they need.

3. Variety

They say that the definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over and expecting different results. By working with a knowledgeable instructor, your workouts will change and evolve as you progress, helping you avoid hitting a plateau or getting bored.

4. Camaraderie

Let’s face it, workouts love company. Sharing the workout enhances the experience for participants. Plus, having someone exercising right beside you can push you a little harder than you might do on your own. Even as a more experienced athlete, having Ryan and Nick there struggling through the same things I was dealing with was pretty motivating.

5. Results

When you work hard and stick to a well built program, you will get results! Both the instructor and the other participants are there to help you get through any challenge. It's so easy to slack off when it's just you on the gym floor, but with just a few more people by your side you can go beyond what you thought your limits were.

Achieving a healthier version of yourself is an amazing journey, and can be so fun if you let it. Using Small Group Training is a fantastic way to not only kick start your workouts, but also make strong friendships and get results, all at a budget-friendly price.
